Capturing the moments

     Hi, I'm Sydney. I am 18 years old and am currently attending The University of Central Oklahoma as a double major in Photography and Nursing. I am a Bixby High School graduate. I also graduated from the two year photography program at Tulsa Tech. I was the class president of my class in Tulsa Tech for both years I attended. I was on the Bixby Dance Team for my last two years of high school and I was a color guard member of the Pride of Bixby Marching Band for my first two years.. I was born in Tulsa, OK and raised in Bixby, OK. I love animals, to travel, go to church, dance, take pictures, and be with my friends and family. I am based out of Tulsa, OK but I am available for Oklahoma City area as well.

I am the youngest of 4 and the 6th member of my family. ​

     As a photographer I am wanting to be known for the way I am at a session. I believe it is easier to take pictures with someone who makes you feel comfortable while posing and being in front of the camera. I like warm tones and bright colors in my pictures. I have photographed multiple weddings, portraits, newborns, maternity, and I can't wait to shoot more and more different subjects.

     My plan for the future is to become a photographer for National Geographic, and to become a traveling RN. I have been photographing since I was about 13 years old and I'm still so in love with it. Last year at Tulsa Tech we had a district photo contest and we had to submit two images and a contact sheet. The two images had to be one of a "cold theme" and the other one could be any image that was your personal favorite. The contact sheet was full of our favorite pictures from the "cold theme" shoot. I won 1st place in all 3 categories and was moving on to the state level where I would've competed against photographers all over the state. If I would've won state I would've moved onto Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. Due to COVID-19 the state competition was cancelled so I was not able to go. But the experience of winning district with a perfect score was amazing in itself. Since then I have won many photography awards as well as been recognized by the Tulsa Zoo, Tulsa Channel 8 News, and Tulsa Technology Center for my photography work.
